Overbrook fair begins today

The Overbrook Osage County Fair was underway as of Wednesday, with the lawn mower pull at 7 p.m. The fair runs through Aug. 15. Carnival rides will be offered through Saturday.

Thursday, donuts and juice will be offered from 8-10 a.m. at the show arena, with 4-H judging begining at 9 a.m. The pedal pull will be at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, the sheep show will be at 8 a.m., and at 2 p.m. will be the bucket calf, dairy, and goat shows. The first fair parade, with the theme, “From Pioneer Days to Modern Ways,” will begin at 6:30 p.m. The parade will be followed by a country music show. The beef show and motocross races follow the parade.

The second parade will be 6 p.m. Saturday, with parade winners announced. At 7 p.m., the 4-H livestock sale begins, followed by a livestock sale buyers’ dinner. The final event of the fair will be the demolition derby at 7:30 p.m.
