Woman
arrested for prostitution
$250,000 seized Tuesday in unrelated case
CARBONDALE—A 59-year-old Topeka woman, Carol Breuer, was arrested
Tuesday afternoon in connection with a search warrant executed north
of Carbondale, at a business known as “Foxy Lady’s.”
Breuer was booked into the Osage County Jail on charges of prostitution
and promoting prostitution. She was later released on her own recognizance
to await formal charges. The business is located at 10919 S. Topeka
Blvd., on Old Highway 75, just inside Osage County on the Osage
County – Shawnee County line.
The search warrant and arrest came after a lengthy investigation
involving the Osage County Sheriff's Office, the Kansas Bureau of
Investigation and Osage County Attorney Brandon Jones.
In a press release issued Tuesday, Jones said, “Law enforcement
officials have collected evidence throughout the course of the investigation
and in the execution of the search warrant that lead them to believe
that the location has been used for illegal prostitution.”
In an unrelated case, Jones reported in the press release that the
Osage County Sheriff's Office seized approximately $250,000 of suspected
drug money during a traffic stop at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on
I-35 in Osage County. One suspect is being held in the Osage County
Jail awaiting formal charges.
Jones could not be reached for comment at press time. |
