Two of the three downtown Burlingame buildings slated for demolition met their demise Thursday. Removal of the buildings at 107 and 109 E. Santa Fe Ave. began April 16 by local contractor Jay Butterfield. The floor and ceiling joists at 109 E. Santa Fe Ave. were removed to keep the building from falling on nearby structures. The building was scheduled to fall April 19, but collapsed shortly after 5 p.m. on April 18, damaging equipment and sending debris into the street.
