file for city,
school board positions
Candidates for open seats in Osage County cities and school boards
in the April 7 election were required to file their intention to
run by noon Jan. 27. Following is a list of candidates who met the
deadline:
Burlingame – R. Martin Kane, Brenda Dorr, Ray Hovestadt
Sr. and Julia Self have filed for Mayor Brenda Dorr’s seat.
Jim Nelson, William Croucher, Jana Franzen, Grant Damron, Kelly
Lord-Vandruff and Rosie Parker have filed for the open seats of
council members Kevin Fry and Dustin Swander.
Carbondale – George Reed, Michael Reynolds, Janey Wallace
and Mike Fulton have filed for the seats of council members Lee
Curtis, Mike Fulton and Patty Kreshel.
Lyndon – Martin Price has filed for Mayor Bruce Williams’
seat. Douglas Watson, Kay Jones, Wayne Howard and James Thurman
have filed for the open seats of council members Vincent Miller,
Doug Watson and Janet Stout-Wolford.
Melvern – Robert Trendel and Joe Warner have filed
for Mayor Joe Warner’s seat. Mike Volkman, William Zabel and
Sean Criqui have filed for the open seats of Nancy Alley, Larry
Allison and Mike Volkman.
Osage City – Quintin Robert has filed for Mayor Steve
Haller’s seat. Matt Brewer, Loren DeBaun, Edwin Muller Sr.,
Becky Brewer and Marcia Haller have filed for the open council member
seats of Becky Brewer, Loren DeBaun, Edwin Mueller and Quintin Robert.
Overbrook – Donald Schultz has filed for Mayor Jack
Young’s seat. Scott Warren, Jason Hielscher, Carol Ann Baughman,
Bruce Sisson, Jon Brady and David Gerisch have filed for the open
council member seats of Larry Coursen and Bob Sisson.
Quenemo – Loren Gray, Juanita Adams and Raymond Bennett
have filed for each of their open council member seats.
Scranton – Philip Parsons, David Barnes and Frank Stokes
have filed for Mayor Gary Burkdoll’s seat. Gary DeShazer,
Randy Jackson, Kenneth Croucher and Terry Ralston Jr. have filed
for the open seats of council members David Barnes and Kenneth Croucher.
Following is a list of candidates who filed for school board member
seats up for election:
USD 420 Osage City – Patrick Bean and Jennie Long have
filed for open position 4A, now held by Patrick Bean. Brian Poertner,
Diane Kimball and Raymond Lauber have filed for open position 5B,
now held by Diane Kimball. Diane Scott and Cindy Cook have filed
for open position 6C, now held by Teresa Talkington.
USD 421 Lyndon – Devin Sprecker, George Stutzman, Brent
Baker and Lori Sturdy have filed for open position 1B, now held
by Devin Sprecker. Incumbent Melissa Herdman filed for open position
3B. No candidate filed for open position 2B, now held by Bob Knoernschild.
USD 434 Santa Fe Trail – Zachary Anshutz and Brad Fischer
have filed for open position 4, now held by Brad Fischer. Incumbent
Randy Boudeman has filed for open position 5. Shandy Vollrath and
Chris Kendall have filed for open position 6, now held by Carolyn
Hug.
USD 454 Burlingame – Michael Thompson has filed for open
position 4, now held by Darla Garrett. Incumbent Cathy Fagan has
filed for open position 5. Incumbent Tanyea Bingham has filed for
open position 6.
USD 456 Marais des Cygnes Valley – Incumbent Billie
Jo Doty has filed for open position 4. Raylen Phelon and Robert
Bradley have filed for open position 5, now held by Raylen Phelon.
Incumbent Karla Saffle has filed for open position 6.
A primary election will be held March 3 for only two open seats,
the races for mayor of Burlingame and school board member of USD
421 (Lyndon).
Because no candidates filed for open position 2B of USD 421, the
winner will be decided by write-in votes in the April 7 election.
