Kevin Whitmer, 3, Osage City, caught the largest and most fish at the Osage City Lions Club Fishing Derby Saturday at Huffman Park.

Osage City Lions Club hosted a children’s fishing derby June 8 at Huffman Park, Osage City, with 24 children participating. Prizes were awarded in each age group and lunch was served to participants.

Kevin Whitmer was awarded two prizes, including one for catching the most fish, 12, and one for catching the largest fish, at 15.5 inches. Jenna Moon was awarded a prize for catching the only turtle.

In the six and under age group, first place was awarded to Holden Vaughn for catching a 13 inch fish, second to Keelyn Duncan for a 13 inch fish, third to Tate Smith for a 11.75 inch fish, and fourth to Liam Vaughn for a 11.5 inch fish.

In the seven to 10 year age group, first place went to Logan Fager, 12 inches; second, Garrett Fager, 11.5 inches; third, Campbell Stark, 12 inches; and fourth, Dax Miller 11.5 inches.
