Students from Osage City Elementary School listen as Osage City Fire District No. 2 firefighters explain fire prevention during a day-long presentation Oct. 12 at Osage City Elementary School.

During Osage City Elementary School fire safety day, Osage City Fire District No. 2 firefighters presented a fire safety demonstration to elementary school children on Oct. 12. Students who were winners of the poster contest rode the fire truck to school that morning. Winners of the contest were Dalton Rush, Josie Thompson, Andrew Rowland, Kyle Grandstaff, Campbell Stark, Lane Sage, Garrett Fager, Jade Potter, Kaden Kirkpatrick, Cheyenne Campbell, Aidan Rowsey, Jerra Butterfield, Emma Barranco, Taylor Lamb and Taylin Kirkpatrick.

The firefighters also visited the school and presented students with fire safety tips and a closer look at the fire trucks and firefighters’ equipment.

Osage City Lions Club donated and assisted the fire department in handing out ice cream to students throughout the day.
