U.S. Highway 75 was closed Tuesday morning for the removal of
the Missouri-Pacific railroad bridge, located approximately two
miles north of Lyndon. Workers removed the bridge with bucket loaders
and jackhammers Tuesday, allowing debris to fall onto a one-foot
dirt overlay. The highway was to remain closed through Thursday,
and is scheduled to close again for three days in October when a
pedestrian bridge will be installed to accommodate traffic along
the Flint Hills Nature Trail. |
