The sixth annual Saturday in the Park event in Scranton promises
to be bigger and better than ever with lots of activities to keep
the entire family entertained. The event will be held July 2 and
July 3.
The event begins 6 p.m. on Friday evening with a car cruise, raffle
and softball, volleyball and 3-on-3 basketball tournaments. At 7
p.m. will be a bike rodeo.
Saturday morning begins with a biscuit and gravy breakfast hosted
by the United Methodist Church from 7-9 a.m. at the city park. The
Lion’s Club annual Independence Day parade will be at 10 a.m.
This is the 20th year for the parade.
The day will continue with lunch in the community building to benefit
Saturday in the Park events. Iinflatables, games and rides, crafters,
children’s activities, food, softball tournament, games, turtle
races, music, and more continue through the day.
The festivities end at dark with the grand finale fireworks display.
