Officer Ryan Dudley of the Burlingame Police Department carries
the Special Olympics torch down Market Street in downtown Osage
City on June 2. Dudley was joined by Burlingame Police Chief Jon
Shaffer, Shawnee County Department of Corrections officers, Shawnee
County Sheriff’s deputies, Topeka Police officers and Kansas
Highway Patrol troopers as they passed the torch through Osage County
en route to the Special Olympics last weekend in Wichita. Officers
ran through Scranton, Burlingame, Osage City and Lyndon to heighten
awareness for the torch run and to show support. Torch run T-shirts
and hats can be purchased at Burlingame City Hall, with all proceeds
benefiting the Special Olympics. |
