Take a trip back in time with dog soldiers, mountain men camp, Battery B artillery, storytellers, quilters, petting zoo, re-enactors and more at Overbrook’s Santa Fe Trail Days Friday and Saturday in Overbrook.

Visit the saloon for root beer, cream soda, sarsaparilla, peanuts, and fun entertainment. Friday evening will feature Mike and Brenda Schirmer.

A horse-drawn parade begins 10:30 a.m. Saturday with registration and lineup at Overbrook Fairgrounds. A shodeo begins at 1 p.m. with registration at the fairgrounds arena. Events include an egg race, red light-green light, greased pig contest, ribbon race, ride a buck, and stick horse race.

Aces and Sixguns are re-enactors versed in history of the 1870s, and will be performing 10:30 a.m., 5 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday, enjoy biscuits and gravy, served from the chuck wagon starting at 7 a.m.; ham and beans at 12 p.m. and a pig roast at 5 p.m. Vendors and crafters will be on site both days.

Events conclude Saturday evening with a street dance, featuring music by Border Line.
