The
Burlingame Rodeo, the main event of Burlingame’s Rodeo Days,
drew hundreds to the city’s arena Friday and Saturday.
Burlingame enjoyed a day of fun during Rodeo Days with a variety
of activities and contests. Announced as winners of the stick horse
decorating contest were Gracie Masters, first place, and Eric Cole,
second place. In the mud volleyball competition, the team of Debbie
Punches, Brian Punches, Wes Colson, Stacy Herrick, Josh Quaney,
and Aimee Thoennes were the winners. Raymond Hovestadt won the hot
dog eating contest in the age 8-12 category; in the 13-17 category,
there was a three-way tie between Gregory Rowley, Connor Summers
and Chris Welch; Ron Shaffer was the winner in the adult category,
after eating six and a half hot dogs in three minutes.
