Mary Elaine Jones

Oct. 20, 1936 – Aug. 16, 2014

KANSA CITY—Mary Elaine Tucker Jones, Overland Park, peacefully passed away Aug. 16, 2014, at Kansas City Hospice House. She was 77.

She was born Oct. 20, 1936, at Barclay, the daughter of Kenneth M. and Mary Helen Sims Tucker.

She was raised in Osage City, and graduated from Osage City High School. She also lived and worked in Topeka and Leavenworth.

She married Warren R. Johnson April 29, 1958, at Osage City, and then Jerald E. Jones May 22, 1970, at Leavenworth. They preceded her in death.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert D. and Charles A. Tucker.

She is survived by a daughter, Diana L. Johnson and her partner, Margo Seddon, Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Richard M. Tucker, Emporia, and James K. Buddy Tucker and wife, Judy Shawnee; five sisters, Erma J. Treiber, Topeka, Jeanette L. Cline and husband, Gary, Hot Springs, Ark., Linda M. Copt and husband, Eric, Austin, Texas, Elizabeth A. Webb and husband, Robert, Beaumont, Texas, and Sharon K. Miller and husband, Tom, Emporia; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great niece.

Per her request, cremation will take place and inurnment will follow at a later time at Resurrection Cemetery, Prince of Peace Mausoleum, Lenexa.
