Loyal Fredrick Seifert

TOPEKA — Loyal Fredrick Seifert, Osage City, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, at Midland Hospice Care, Topeka. He was 83.

He was born April 1, 1936, at Aline, Okla., the son of John F. and Maggie Prisk Seifert. He graduated from Labette County High School, Altamont.

He married Margaret A. Terril Aug. 1, 1954, on a family farm near Altamont. She survives of the home. To this union two daughters were born, Linda and Brenda.

He was superintendent of a rock quarry for many years and did various other jobs through his life. He loved being outdoors and planting a garden every spring. He spent many hours working in his shop on his many projects.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul.

Besides his wife, he will be forever remembered by two daughters, Linda Marshall and husband, Mike, Lawrence, and Brenda Coursen and husband, Joe, Halstead; a brother, Fred Seifert, Virginia; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3, at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City. Family will receive friends an hour before service. Burial will follow at Osage City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
