CARBONDALE — Cynthia Lou Herr Booth died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at her home in Carbondale. She was 66.

She was born Feb. 3, 1951, at Topeka, the daughter of Martin and Rosabelle “Pettie” Harris. She grew up in Scranton and Topeka and lived in Carbondale for the last 49 years.

She worked for Essex Wire in Topeka for 24 years and then worked for Party America.

She married Jerry Booth July 3, 1978, at Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2013.

Margaret L. DeBaun

Dec. 25, 1922 – Nov. 28, 2017

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wisc. — Margaret L. DeBaun, formerly of Osage City, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at The Arboretum, Menomonee Falls, Wisc., where she had received exceptional care over for the past eight years. She was 94.

She previously resided in Osage City for over 40 years.

She was born Dec. 25, 1922, at Topeka, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Lacy Allison. She graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1940 as salutatorian of her class and attended Dodd’s Secretarial School.

Benjamin J. Petterson

June 18, 1968 – Nov. 25, 2017

BENEDICT — Benjamin James “B.J.” Petterson died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at his home at Benedict, following a brief battle with cancer. He was 49.

He was born June 18, 1968, at Topeka, the son of Andrew B. and Gladys B. Kaseman Petterson. He grew up in New Strawn and graduated from Burlington High School in 1986. He completed Topeka Electrical JATC in 2010.

Deloris Jean Heilmann

June 9, 1928 – Nov. 22, 2017

TOPEKA — Deloris Jean Heilmann, Melvern, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at Presbyterian Manor, Topeka. She was 89.

She was born June 9, 1928, on a farm near Olivet, the daughter of Clifford and Elizabeth Fisher Elder. She attended grade school at Valley, .25 miles from her home and graduated from Melvern High School.

She was a homemaker and one of the founding members of the Jobs Daughters Organization in Melvern. She was a member of Eastern Star, Melvern United Methodist Church and Melvern United Methodist Women.

Ardis Jeanette Johnson Williams

May 17, 1936 – Nov. 11, 2017

WAGONER, Okla. — Ardis Jeanette Johnson Williams, formerly of the Miller community, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at her home at Wagoner, Okla. She was 81.

She was born May 17, 1936, at Osage City, the daughter of Edward Olaf and Nancy Fern Austin Johnson.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Barbara Jean Britschge

June 30, 1956 – Nov. 16, 2017

TOPEKA — Barbara Jean Britschge, Burlingame, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at a Topeka hospital. She was 61.

She was born June 30, 1956, at Emporia, the daughter of Melvin P. and Helen V. Kraus Britschge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers, Ronald, Russell, Gary, Dean and Clifford Britschge.

Vernon L. Weimer

July 6, 1933 – Nov. 16, 2017

TOPEKA — Vernon L. Weimer died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka. He was 84.

He was born July 6, 1933, at Olivet, the son of Louis and Dorothy Taylor Weimer. He spent his life in the Olivet, Melvern and Carbondale communities.

Donald Cullen Bryant

Sept. 4, 1977 – Nov. 7, 2017

OVERBROOK — Donald Cullen Bryant, Overbrook, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017. He was 40.

He was born Sept. 4, 1977, at Lawrence. He graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1996 and attended Kaw Area Vocational School and Allen Community College. He served in the Kansas National Guard.

He was employed as the maintenance superintendent for the city of Overbrook. Donald “Ratchet” was a member of the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club and served as a sergeant-at-arms.

He married Jennifer Toyne in August 2001. They later divorced.

Ellis Linwood Swarts

May 11, 1922 – Nov. 2, 2017

OSAGE CITY — Ellis Linwood Swarts, Osage City, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Osage City. He was 95.

He was born May 11, 1922, the son of Harry and Jessie Benton Swarts. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1940.

Mary T. Stockman

May 19, 1926 – Nov. 11, 2017

TOPEKA — Mary T. Stockman passed from this world to her new journey with the Lord, Nov. 11, 2017, at Midland Hospice, Topeka. She was 91.

She was born May 19, 1926, at Topeka, the sixth of seven daughters of Leo A. and Loretta Erbacher.

She grew up in St. Marys, where she attended and graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic School. After high school graduation, she attended St. Marys College, Leavenworth, before moving to Denver to join the workforce.
