Delmer Jene Wymore

Dec. 2, 1929 – July 31, 2014

OSAGE CITY—Delmer “Del” Jene Wymore, Osage City, Kansas, died July 31, 2014, at Osage Nursing Center. He was 84.

He was born Dec. 2, 1929, at Allen, Kansas, the son of James William and Mary Julia Cole Wymore. His family moved to Osage City by hayrack and team when he was just a toddler.

He worked for the railroad as a young boy until his family moved to Los Angeles in 1945. He graduated from Belmont High School in Los Angeles and soon after joined the United States Navy.

Edrie Leona Peimann

Nov. 28, 1926 ¬– Aug. 2, 2014

OSAGE CITY—Edrie Leona Peimann, Vassar, died Aug. 2, 2014, at Osage Nursing Center. He was 87.
She was born Nov. 28, 1926, on the family farm south of Vassar, the daughter of Clarence and Hallie McCreight Brecheisen. She lived all of her life in and around the Vassar community.

She worked at Vassar Tea Room, was a homemaker and babysitter. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the L.W.M.L.

She married Dean Peimann Dec. 2, 1949, at Vassar. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1993.

Roland H. Ullery

Jan. 26, 1950 – Aug. 1, 2014

TOPEKA—Roland “Herbie” H. Ullery, Scranton, passed from this life to be with Jesus, his Savior, Aug. 1, 2014, at Topeka. He was 64.

He was born Jan. 26, 1950, the son of Herbert and Helen Eklund Ullery. The youngest of six children, he attended Scranton High School and graduated in 1968.

He married Terri Croucher, Burlingame, Feb. 5, 1972. They were married 42 years. They raised two daughters, Michele and Miranda, together in Scranton.

Alice Wilkins

Oct. 7, 1927 - July 28, 2014

Osage City—Alice Wilkins, 86, passed away July 28, 2014, at Peterson's Nursing Home in Osage City. She was born on Oct. 7, 1927, in Osage City, the daughter of Olin and Thersa Rice Oveson.

Alice had lived all of her life in the Osage City community.

She was a homemaker and had worked for Hallmark Cards as a Napkin Packager. She was a Girl Scout Leader and was an avid Bowler.

Alice was married to Clayton Wilkins April 14, 1945, in Ottawa.

Fred Bond, Jr.

June 14, 1953 – July 27, 2014

Overbrook—Fred Bond, Jr., 61, died July 27, 2014 at the Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook. He was born on June 14, 1953 in Topeka, KS., the son of Fred and Edna Trendel Bond, Sr.

Fred had lived all of his life around the Overbrook community.

He had worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation in Topeka for many years. He graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1971, was an avid Coon Hunter and attended the Methodist Church.

Jimmie Stevenson Franey

March 10, 1934 – July 25, 2014

LAKE CITY—Jimmie Stevenson Franey, 80, Lake City, Fla., went to be with our Lord and Savior July 25, 2014, after an extended illness. He was 80.

He was born March 10, 1934, at Henderson, Ky. He worked as a union painter in Paducah, Ky., beginning in 1964 and then moved to Florida in 1971. He was employed by Walt Disney World, Gene Nelson Inc. and MCPA out of Texas.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Evelyn; and his parents, Benjamin and Evelyn Franey.

Edwin Earl Waller

August 18, 1934 – July 24, 2014

OVERBROOK—Edwin Earl Waller, 79, of Overbrook, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at his home. He was born August 18, 1934 in Garnett, Kansas the son of Chester Albert and Margaret Irene (Manspeaker) Waller. Edwin moved with his family in his youth to Overbrook and was a near lifelong resident graduating from Overbrook High School with the class of 1954.

He was a longtime propane gas truck driver for Toucher’s and eventually Heat Co. He was also a 46 year volunteer firefighter for the Osage County Fire District No., 4 retiring in 2006.

Wesley Martin Blacketer Sr.

Feb. 20, 2014 – July 26, 2014

VASSAR—Wesley “Boots” Martin Blacketer Sr., Vassar, died July 26, 2014, at home. He was 85.

He was born Feb. 20, 1929, at Deweese, Neb., the son of Henry and Ethel Blacketer.

He married Carol Mattson Nov. 19, 1950. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2003. They lived in Maryville, Mo., before moving to Osage City in 1960.

He married Charlene Shaw June 5, 2004. She survives of the home. They lived in Osage City before moving to Vassar.

Sadie J. Biggart

Aug. 4, 1923 – July 24, 2014

OVERLAND PARK—Sadie J. Biggart, formerly of Topeka, died July 24, 2014, at Delmar Gardens, Overland Park. She was 90.

She was born Aug. 4, 1923, at Wagner, Okla., the daughter of James F. and Minnie Edwards Stockwell. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1942.

She resided in Topeka, Wakarusa and Lyndon, prior to moving to Overland Park in December 2011.

She was employed by Crown Drug and Robbies Restaurant.

She married Carl L. Biggart Feb. 3, 1951, at Topeka. He preceded her in death in December 1989.

Kevin W. Thoman

October 5, 1967 - July 20, 2014

Kevin W. Thoman, 46 years of age, of Topeka, formerly of Concordia, passed away unexpectedly at home in his sleep Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was born on October 5, 1967 in Concordia to Boyd and Linda (Mossburgh) Thoman. Kevin graduated from Concordia High School in 1987. He had a great joy for baseball.
